Voluntary Patrols
Members of Perranporth Surf Lifesaving Club have been patrolling the beaches of Perranporth since it was established on 13th February, 1957 by the 10 founding volunteer members.
Now, the RNLI is tasked with patrolling the beaches from April until October between 10:00 and 18:00. However, as a Club we continue to provide our voluntary patrols. We do this during (bank) holidays and the busy summer months from 18:00 to 20:00 and during events.
The voluntary patrols lie at the foundation of what we stand for as a Club.
We kindly ask members who have gotten their Lifeguard or Lifesaver qualifications through the Club to do at least 10 hours of voluntary patrols or water safety cover during Club sessions per year.
We also encourage all members of the Club to do at least a couple of voluntary patrols per year. You don’t need any experience or qualifications to take part and it’s a great way to give back and to get to know your fellow Club members.
Please contact the Voluntary Patrol Officer if you want to get involved.
