Swimathon 2014 – July 26th & 27th

We’ve been contacted by Cornwall Pools Ltd. about a Swimathon they’re organising to help raise monies for our friends at Cornwall Air Ambulance. In a novel twist to the usual format, the idea is to enter a team which will then “swim for 25 minutes without going anywhere”. If you haven’t figured it out – it involves swimming in an “endless pool” of the type used by superstar triathlete Alastair Brownlee who had one installed at his house to aid his return from injury in the run up to his Olympic Gold.

The event will be taking place on the weekend of the 26th and 27th July, with monies raised going to Cornwall Air Ambulance. 28 teams, will swim a total of 26 miles, over 2 days, without going anywhere, and at the same time raise thousands for an invaluable local charity.

Cornwall pools extends an invite to all our club members  to get involved through entering a team, sponsorship or just coming along to the event to support the teams. You can download the registration form by clicking here.
