2013 Winter Training Schedule & Times

Tuesday Nights:

  • YOUTH (12+) Winter Swimming Training Night, REDRUTH SCHOOL 7.00 – 8.00 pm

The ever growing youth team train on Tuesday night at Redruth school – £2.50 / per session. Session coached by ASA and Swim America Coach Alan Reid of TR1 Swimming, who worked alongside the great swim coach Duncan Newby.

  • ADULT ONLY Winter Swimming Training Night, REDRUTH SCHOOL 8.00 – 9.00 pm (also coaching provided by Alan Reid). Cost: Only £3 per session !!

We highly recommend this session particularly:

If you want to get fit, improve your swimming
You are training for life guarding qualifications
Training for a specific event such as Triathlon or open swimming.
Want to get more involved as a parent.
Lots of technique improving work and fitness sets play a big part of the hour session.

Thursday Nights:

  • NIPPERS night: 7.00pm – 8pm (7-12 years) NEWQUAY WATERWOLRD

This is the winter swimming and lifesaving sports training night for our Nippers. £25 for 10 week block payment only.

  • SENIORS, PARENTS & YOUTH  night:8.00pm – 9pm NEWQUAY WATERWORLD

Youth (12+), £2.80 a session (£25 for 10 weeks) Coached by Russ. Seniors and Parents £3.20 (£30 for 10 weeks).

As a club we have a long and distinguished record of service that stretches back to the early 1950s when a spate of Summer drownings at the beach led to a public meeting in the town from which the lifesaving club was formed, using a small beach hut on the sand as its first headquarters. Over the years the club has grown considerably and today, we have over 300 members. There is a broad mixture of personalities, patrolling members and competitors who combine to provide a unique atmosphere and lifestyle. Our Club is an intimate part of our local community and we are keen to recruit new members who are willing to get involved with the “life of the beach”. Lifesaving and the pursuit of activities related to it are our primary focus, but we depend on people who can help as much behind the scenes as on the beach. Our Nipper, Youth, Senior and Master sections cover ages from 7 to 80+ so we will find room for anyone irrespective of age, gender or ability!
